Algiers, December 3, 2025 – Prime Minister Sifi Ghrib presided over a government meeting today, focusing on several critical national initiatives, according to sources within the Prime Minister’s office.
The meeting featured a presentation on the National Strategy for E-Commerce Development. This strategy is a key component of the nation’s digital transformation vision, aiming to modernize the national trade ecosystem and establish e-commerce as a central pillar for economic competitiveness and financial inclusion.
The government also reviewed the benefits offered by non-geostationary orbit (NGSO) satellite-based electronic communication services. This system is projected to significantly reduce the digital services bill and ensure high-speed internet access in rural and isolated areas. It will also complement existing strategic infrastructure.
As part of ongoing monitoring of major structural projects, the government received updates on the progress of several key undertakings. These included the railway development program, the construction of a sports complex in Constantine, the Boukhroufa dam project in El Tarf province, and the Ighil Emda-Mehouane water transfer project spanning the provinces of Bejaia and Setif.
