Palestinian Woman Killed, Others Wounded in Gaza Shooting

A Palestinian woman was killed and several others wounded by Israeli military fire in the Al-Tuffah neighborhood, northeast of Gaza City, on Thursday. According to local sources, Israeli forces opened fire on civilians in the area.

The incident comes amid ongoing tensions and a fragile ceasefire agreement. The total number of Palestinian fatalities in Gaza since October 7, 2023, has risen to 70,125, with 171,015 injured, the majority of whom are women and children, according to Palestinian health authorities.

The ceasefire agreement, brokered between Hamas and Israel, was implemented on October 10th of last year. It stipulated an end to the conflict in Gaza, the withdrawal of Israeli forces, the entry of humanitarian aid, and prisoner exchanges. However, violations of the agreement have been reported.

For over two years, Israeli actions in Gaza have been described as a campaign of widespread destruction, displacement, and alleged starvation. These actions have occurred despite international appeals and orders from the International Court of Justice to halt them. The situation remains volatile, with concerns mounting over the safety and well-being of civilians in the region. DZWatch will continue to provide updates as the situation unfolds.
