Algeria Highlights Investment Opportunities at South Africa Forum

The Algerian Investment Promotion Agency participated in an economic forum in South Africa focused on showcasing investment opportunities in Algeria and fostering partnerships between the two nations.

During the event, organized by the Algerian Embassy in Pretoria in collaboration with the South African Chamber of Commerce and Industry, a representative from the Agency, Ms. Iman Toumi, delivered a comprehensive presentation. The presentation detailed Algeria’s business climate, the legal framework supporting investment, incentives available to foreign investors, and priority sectors with high potential for bilateral partnerships.

Key areas highlighted included the energy, mining, and infrastructure sectors, all presenting significant growth potential for investors.

Furthermore, organizers announced plans for an Algerian product exhibition in South Africa during the first quarter of 2026. The exhibition aims to promote Algerian products and expand trade and investment partnerships.

This forum builds upon the growing economic relationship between Algeria and South Africa, following a previous economic forum held in December 2024 during the South African President’s official visit to Algeria. The event saw participation from a significant Algerian delegation, including representatives from the National Agency for Mining Activities, the Geological Survey of Algeria, SONAREM Group, and Sonelgaz.

South African business leaders and members of the Algerian diaspora also attended, expressing strong interest in the opportunities available within the Algerian market.

The forum underscores Algeria’s commitment to attracting foreign investment and strengthening economic ties with key partners in Africa.
