Beni Abbes, Algeria – The Minister of Interior, Local Authorities, and Transportation, Said Saayoud, traveled to Beni Abbes this evening from Houari Boumediene Airport to oversee on-the-ground responses following a tragic traffic accident in the region.
The Minister is accompanied by the Minister of Health, Mohamed Essedik Ait Messoudene, as part of an official delegation. The purpose of their visit is to directly assess the situation and evaluate the measures being taken to assist the injured.
This swift action follows an accident that resulted in the deaths of 14 citizens and injuries to 34 others. The severity of the incident prompted the mobilization of various health, security, and civil protection services to care for the victims and ensure their transfer to appropriate medical facilities.
The government’s field visit underscores its constant monitoring of serious road accidents. It also demonstrates the commitment to provide support to those affected and to assess the causes of the accident to prevent similar tragedies from occurring in the future.
