Major Drug Trafficker Apprehended in Oran

Oran, December 7, 2025 – Oran police have successfully apprehended a major drug trafficker operating within the city. The suspect, believed to be part of an organized criminal network, was dealing in hard drugs and narcotics throughout urban areas.

According to a statement released by Oran police, the individual utilized a private vehicle with a forged registration card to conceal and facilitate his illicit activities, enabling the distribution of narcotics across the city.

The anti-crime unit of the Bir El Djir security division seized a substantial quantity of drugs during the operation. This included 4.5 kilograms of narcotics, 150 grams of cocaine, and 3,533 ecstasy tablets.

The operation was launched following intelligence received regarding the suspect’s suspicious activities. Police investigators monitored his movements and activities, eventually intercepting him while he was using his vehicle to distribute and traffic narcotics within urban areas.

A search of the vehicle led to the discovery of the aforementioned drugs: 4.5 kilograms of processed cannabis, 3,533 ecstasy tablets, and 150 grams of cocaine. Authorities also seized 17,500 Algerian dinars, believed to be proceeds from his criminal activities. The suspect was then taken into custody, and an investigation was initiated.

Following legal procedures and consultation with the Public Prosecutor at the Flaoucen Court, the suspect was presented before the court on charges related to the transportation, shipment, and storage of narcotics as part of a criminal group, as well as forgery and use of forged documents. A detention order was issued.
