Algiers, December 9, 2025 – Minister of Internal Trade and Regulation of the National Market, Amel Abdelatif, presided over a coordination meeting today with leaders and representatives from key consumer protection associations. The meeting, held at the Ministry headquarters, included representatives from the Al Aman Association, the Algerian Consumer Federation, the National Association for Consumer Guidance and Protection in E-Commerce, and the Algerian Organization for the Protection and Guidance of the Consumer and their Environment. Senior Ministry officials were also in attendance.
During the meeting, Minister Abdelatif listened to the various concerns, proposals, and field observations raised by the consumer protection associations. She praised their role in raising awareness, providing support, and proposing ideas that contribute to improving the quality of services offered to consumers.
In this context, Amel Abdelatif emphasized the adoption of a permanent participatory approach based on dialogue and joint action. She added that the Ministry is open to all initiatives that would support consumers and promote harmony among the various actors in the market.
The Minister pointed out that awareness-raising efforts are now a fundamental pillar of consumer protection and improved transaction quality in the market. She explained that these initiatives aim to provide citizens with the necessary information, enabling them to understand their rights and responsibilities, and to interact consciously with the market, thereby contributing to the promotion of a responsible and organized consumer environment.
