Israeli Forces Raid UNRWA Headquarters in Jerusalem

Jerusalem – The Arab Parliament has strongly condemned the raid on the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA) headquarters in Jerusalem. The incident, which took place on Tuesday, has been described as a blatant assault on international legitimacy.

According to a statement released by the office of Mohamed bin Ahmed Al Yamahi, President of the Arab Parliament, the incursion by Israeli forces constitutes a “direct and egregious attack” on the United Nations and its established international authority. Al Yamahi asserted that the raid represents a flagrant violation of international laws and conventions, demonstrating a profound disregard for the international community.

“This act of aggression against a vital UN agency, dedicated to providing essential services to Palestinian refugees, cannot be tolerated,” stated Al Yamahi. He further emphasized the need for immediate and decisive action to hold those responsible accountable and to prevent future occurrences of this nature.

The Arab Parliament views the raid as a deliberate attempt to undermine the role and operations of UNRWA, which plays a critical role in providing humanitarian assistance, education, and healthcare to millions of Palestinian refugees across the region. The organization reiterated its unwavering support for UNRWA and its mission, calling on the international community to stand in solidarity with the agency and the Palestinian people.

The incident has sparked widespread condemnation across the Arab world, with many calling for an immediate investigation and demanding that Israel respect international law and the sanctity of UN facilities. The raid has further heightened tensions in the already volatile region, raising concerns about the potential for further escalation.
