Minister Saadawi Reviews Education Sector Progress in National Forum

Algiers, December 10, 2025 – Minister of National Education, Mohamed Seghir Saadawi, chaired a national forum via video conference to assess the first term of the academic year and review the progress of sector projects across the country, according to a statement released by the ministry on Wednesday.

The forum, held on Tuesday with the participation of central administration officials, education directors, and delegated managers, focused on evaluating the preparedness of educational institutions at both the pedagogical and administrative levels. Emphasis was placed on ensuring a conducive learning environment and efficient management practices.

Minister Saadawi commended the efforts of education directors during the first term, expressing his gratitude to the entire educational community for their engagement in the term’s activities. He stressed the importance of continued monitoring of the remaining exam period and class councils, while ensuring strict discipline within all public and private educational institutions.

The Minister highlighted the significance of strengthening communication at the local level to improve administrative performance and enhance the management of educational institutions. He emphasized that fostering a professional environment based on mutual respect and active listening is crucial for supporting institutional stability and improving quality.

Regarding the supplementary program for the rehabilitation of educational institutions (middle and high schools) for 2024, Mr. Saadawi called for accelerating progress in states where work has not yet been completed. He also ordered continued close monitoring of the implementation phases at the concerned states to ensure the closure of this file before the end of the year.

Concerning student records, he reiterated previous instructions on the need for complete digitization of student files and stressed the importance of strict monitoring of these procedures, particularly those related to students preparing for national school exams. The Minister also noted the readiness of the mechanism for monitoring the implementation of inspection report recommendations, which will ensure effective follow-up to translate each inspection report immediately into clear implementation measures at the level of education directorates, thereby enhancing performance.
