Algiers – The Ministry of Interior and Local Authorities has established a specialized sub-committee dedicated to overseeing logistical preparations for the official launch of the Gara Djebilet iron ore project. The announcement was made following a high-level coordination meeting held Wednesday at the ministry headquarters.
The meeting, chaired by the Minister of Interior, Local Authorities, and Transport, Said Sayoud, and attended by the Secretary-General and the Head of Cabinet, focused primarily on preparations for the upcoming ceremony marking the entry into service of the Gara Djebilet project. This project is considered a cornerstone of Algeria’s economic diversification strategy.
During the meeting, the Minister formally inaugurated the sub-committee for Transport and Logistics. This committee’s mandate includes monitoring on-the-ground preparations and ensuring the readiness of all organizational, technical, and security aspects related to the launch event.
