Algiers, Algeria – A series of new Algerian-German investment projects and Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) were signed yesterday in Algiers, marking a significant step in bilateral economic cooperation. The agreements span multiple sectors, promising to boost local industry and create new opportunities.
The announcement coincided with the inaugural Algerian-German Investment Summit (GAIS), organized by the Algerian-German Chamber of Commerce and Industry (AHK) to celebrate its 20th anniversary.
One notable project involves KSB, a German manufacturer specializing in pumps and valves. The company plans to invest in local production to cater to the needs of Algeria’s irrigation, energy, industry, petrochemical, and construction sectors, according to Kais Hadj Amar, General Manager of KSB Algeria. He noted that KSB has been marketing its products in Algeria for approximately 15 years.
Reichhart Logistic is also set to launch operations in Algeria, providing outsourcing services to the automotive industry, particularly in the production of exhaust systems. Mohamed Mounir Harir, a representative of Reichhart Logistic, stated that the company aims to enhance local integration across various economic sectors through its logistical and industrial services.
A third investment involves a joint venture between German company Weiss Chemie + Technik and Algerian firm ECBF Industrie. Their collaboration will focus on manufacturing adhesives for the industry, construction, automotive, and shipbuilding sectors. Sarah Sadi, a representative of ECBF, highlighted that this alliance is based on a shared vision to accelerate industrial innovation in Algeria, promote local integration in key sectors, and position Algeria as a competitive player regionally and internationally.
Furthermore, Siemens Germany and the Algerian company Intelligent Network signed an MoU to collaborate on data center projects. This agreement aims to contribute to the development of digital infrastructure in Algeria. Mehdi Benzarqa, General Manager of Siemens Algeria, explained that the agreement will enable the provision of high value-added digital solutions in industry and services.
