Ljubljana, Slovenia – An Algerian parliamentary delegation concluded a series of high-level meetings in Ljubljana, Slovenia, yesterday, aimed at bolstering parliamentary cooperation between the two nations. The delegation, representing the Algeria-Slovenia Friendship Group, engaged in extensive bilateral discussions, according to a statement released by the People’s National Assembly.
The visit featured a robust diplomatic agenda, with the delegation meeting with several members of parliament and officials from the National Assembly of the Republic of Slovenia. Discussions centered on enhancing joint parliamentary efforts, recognizing parliamentary friendship groups as vital pillars for supporting bilateral partnerships and expanding cooperation across various sectors.
The talks also included an exchange of perspectives on international and regional issues of mutual interest, reflecting a shared desire to coordinate positions and strengthen dialogue between the legislative bodies. The Algerian delegation was received by the President of the Slovenian National Assembly, Urška Klakočar Zupančič, before holding expanded meetings with committees on economy, education, science, youth, and political and foreign affairs.
The delegation also met with the State Secretary of the Ministry of Environment, Climate, and Energy, as well as the State Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs. During these meetings, the significant development of Algerian-Slovenian relations in recent years was highlighted, with praise for the existing coordination between the two sides bilaterally and multilaterally, particularly within the framework of the United Nations Security Council. This visit underscores Algeria’s commitment to strengthening international partnerships and fostering cooperation on key global issues.
