Algiers – The High Commission for Digitalization and the Ministry of Youth have signed a landmark agreement to bolster the nation’s digital infrastructure and enhance services for young Algerians. The accord focuses on leveraging the state’s sovereign cloud computing resources, housed within the National Data Center for Digital Services.
The agreement, formalized on Sunday at the Ministry of Youth, aims to streamline access to and utilization of these cloud resources. The signing ceremony was overseen by the High Commissioner for Digitalization, Meryem Ben Miloud, and the Minister of Youth, Mustapha Hidaoui.
This initiative aligns with President Abdelmadjid Tebboune’s directives to accelerate digital transformation and modernize public administration. A key objective is to establish a unified and secure national digital environment for hosting critical data and applications, thereby safeguarding sensitive information and increasing the reliability of sectoral digital platforms.
The agreement is also part of a broader national vision to consolidate public digital infrastructure and create a cohesive technical framework for developing and improving digital services, particularly those targeted at the youth demographic.
During the signing, Ben Miloud emphasized the state’s commitment to a comprehensive and sustainable digital transformation built on sovereign infrastructure. She stated that this transformation would enhance public sector efficiency and improve the quality of services provided to citizens, especially young people.
Minister Hidaoui hailed the agreement as a pivotal step in modernizing and digitizing the youth sector, reflecting the President’s commitment to digital governance and the modernization of public sector management. He underscored the importance of this partnership in providing better digital opportunities for Algerian youth. A technical presentation by officials from the High Commission for Digitalization showcased available cloud solutions designed to support the digitalization of the youth sector and enhance its digital service offerings.
