DZWatch — In a proactive endeavor to stimulate regional development, Algerian President Abdelmadjid Tebboune kicked off a rigorous working and inspection visit to Djelfa Wilaya this Sunday. The presidential tour encompasses the inauguration and thorough evaluation of several large-scale development projects, signifying a fresh wave of advancement in the area.

Spearheading Rail Infrastructure

As a first order of business, President Tebboune inaugurated a new railway station in the provincial capital. This station forms part of the pivotal Boughezoul-Laghouat railway line. The President inspected various facilities within this crucial infrastructure and received an in-depth presentation on how the project aims to invigorate development efforts across the region.

Fortifying Environmental Initiatives

Moving on to ecological concerns, the President initiated a significant afforestation project covering nearly 400,000 hectares. This endeavor is under the broader framework of the Green Dam revitalization scheme. President Tebboune also took the opportunity to hear briefings on the operational aspects of this extensive reforestation project.

Pioneering Cancer Treatment in the Region

The tour’s third milestone was the inauguration of a state-of-the-art cancer center, remarkably completed ahead of the March 2024 deadline. During his visit to the facility, the President explored various departments equipped with cutting-edge medical technology, designed to offer superior healthcare services to patients from all surrounding regions.

Elevating Higher Education

Another monumental step was the inauguration of the Wilaya’s first-ever medical school, boasting nearly 100 educational spots. After the ceremonial launch of the academic institution, the President was briefed on additional development programs specifically tailored for Djelfa Wilaya and its comprehensive growth plan.

Community Engagement

To round off his visit, President Tebboune engaged in a dialogue with representatives from civil society. The meeting aimed to facilitate a two-way communication channel, allowing the President to listen to concerns, proposals, and aspirations across various sectors.

This action-packed visit by the President clearly signals the Algerian government’s ongoing commitment to catalyzing development at both the regional and national levels, in line with Algeria’s broader economic and social objectives.
