Algiers – Minister of Post and Telecommunications, Sid Ali Zarouati, chaired a coordination meeting with various institutions within the sector to ensure the provision of robust telecommunications services and support the preparations related to the operational launch of the Gara Djebilet iron ore project.
During the meeting, Minister Zarouati issued directives for the mobilization of all available human and material resources within the sector’s affiliated institutions. He emphasized the critical need for technical and organizational readiness, guaranteeing the continuity and quality of telecommunications services.
The Minister underscored the importance of a comprehensive mobilization strategy to effectively support this strategic project and demonstrate the sector’s role in bolstering major national initiatives.
“It is imperative that we provide seamless and reliable connectivity to facilitate the smooth operation of the Gara Djebilet project,” stated Minister Zarouati. “This project is of national significance, and our sector must play a pivotal role in its success.”
The Gara Djebilet iron ore mine is a key project for Algeria, aimed at diversifying the economy and reducing reliance on hydrocarbon exports. The project is expected to significantly boost the country’s industrial capacity and create numerous employment opportunities.
The meeting addressed several key areas, including the deployment of fiber optic infrastructure, the upgrading of existing telecommunications networks, and the establishment of dedicated communication channels for project management and operations. The Minister also emphasized the importance of cybersecurity measures to protect the project’s communication infrastructure from potential threats.
