Algiers, Algeria – The National Gendarmerie’s regional group in Algiers is calling on citizens who may have been victims of fraud and deception to file complaints with the relevant judicial and security authorities. This appeal follows the arrest of a suspect who allegedly impersonated the head of an organization called “Youth Echo Forum.”
According to a statement released by the Gendarmerie, the individual, identified as (B. M. F.), was apprehended by the National Gendarmerie’s Research and Investigation Department in Algiers, acting under authorization from the Public Prosecutor at the Cheraga Court. The arrest was made in accordance with Article 26 of the Code of Criminal Procedure.
The suspect is accused of multiple counts of fraud and deception targeting the public. He allegedly exploited his purported position as the head of the “Youth Echo Forum” by falsely claiming to represent a public body, issuing certificates validating incorrect information, and illegally granting permits for the establishment of childcare facilities.
The National Gendarmerie’s regional group in Algiers is urging any individual or entity that believes they have been victimized by the suspect to come forward. Victims are encouraged to file a complaint or provide testimony at the Public Prosecutor’s Office at the Cheraga Court, the headquarters of the National Gendarmerie’s Research and Investigation Department in Algiers, or the nearest National Gendarmerie station nationwide. This will aid in the ongoing investigation.
