Algiers – The Economic Renewal Council (ERC) is strongly supporting the President’s vision for achieving a robust economic partnership and sustainable growth exceeding $400 billion, according to Minister of Labor, Employment, and Social Security, Abdelhak Saihi.
Saihi emphasized the crucial need for collaborative efforts between the state and economic stakeholders to realize Algeria’s ambitious economic objectives. He highlighted the importance of fostering sustainable growth that elevates the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) to over $400 billion in the medium term.
Minister Saihi commended the efforts of Kamel Moula, the head of the ERC, and other economic actors. He expressed his appreciation for their dedication during his attendance at the ERC’s General Assembly. Saihi affirmed that this economic gathering reflects a shared commitment to supporting comprehensive and sustainable national economic development.
Saihi further stated that the ERC serves as an economic and social partner to the government, providing a platform for coordination and economic integration. He noted that the General Assembly occurs at a critical juncture, requiring enhanced coordination among various economic players to propel the new national economy forward. This new economy is rooted in the localization of knowledge and advanced technology within the Algerian economic landscape.
The overarching goal of this collaboration, according to Saihi, is to achieve sustainable economic growth by improving national performance and encouraging investment initiatives. This approach is designed to serve the interests of the national economy as a whole.
The Minister lauded the ERC’s pivotal role in strengthening coordination and integration between the public and private sectors in Algeria. He also acknowledged its effective contribution in representing economic operators, conveying their concerns, and proposing practical solutions to enhance strategic partnerships among Algerian economic stakeholders. The Council is actively contributing to accelerating technology transfer and localization within the country.
