Doha – The Emir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, has praised the recently concluded Arab Cup for embodying the spirit of brotherhood and respect among participating nations. His Highness extended his congratulations to the Moroccan national team, who emerged victorious in the tournament final held on Thursday evening.
In a statement released via his official account on the social media platform ‘X’, the Emir expressed his pride in the impeccable organization and outstanding athletic performances that characterized the Arab Cup. He emphasized the tournament’s role in fostering a sense of unity and mutual respect amongst Arab nations.
“We are proud of the excellent organization and brilliant athletic performance of the Arab Cup, and what it embodied of feelings of brotherhood and respect,” the Emir stated.
He further added, “Congratulations to the Moroccan national team for winning the title and to the Jordanian national team for the runner-up position. We hope that this footballing occasion will continue to bring together all Arab brothers.”
The Moroccan national team secured their championship title with a hard-fought 3-2 victory over Jordan after extra time in a thrilling match hosted at the iconic Lusail Stadium.
Qatar hosted the 2025 Arab Cup, marking the third time the nation has held the prestigious tournament. Sixteen national teams participated in the competition, which ran from December 1st to December 18th. Qatar is also slated to host the next two editions of the Arab Cup in 2029 and 2033, solidifying its position as a premier sporting destination in the region.
