Algiers, December 19, 2025 – Algeria and Egypt have reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening their strategic partnership and enhancing coordination on regional issues. This announcement follows bilateral talks held in Cairo between Algerian Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ahmed Attaf, and Egyptian Foreign Minister, Bader Abdel-Aty.
The meeting took place on the sidelines of Minister Attaf’s participation in the Second Ministerial Session of the African-Russian Partnership Forum. The discussions, held at Tahrir Palace, provided an opportunity to assess the outcomes of the 9th session of the Algerian-Egyptian High Joint Committee, which convened in Cairo on November 26th.
Both ministers expressed satisfaction with the progress achieved thus far, underscoring the commitment of both President Abdelmadjid Tebboune and President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi to bolstering bilateral cooperation and solidifying the bonds of brotherhood and strategic partnership between Algeria and Egypt. This partnership is viewed as crucial for regional stability and development.
Discussions also encompassed a range of regional and international issues, with a particular focus on the escalating situation in the Gaza Strip and the broader Palestinian question. The ministers exchanged views on the ongoing crises in Sudan and Libya, as well as the security and political challenges facing the Sahel region.
Concluding their meeting, the ministers emphasized the importance of continued coordination and consultation between Algeria and Egypt on matters of mutual concern. This collaboration aims to promote regional stability and enhance the role of both nations in supporting peace and security across Africa and the Arab world.
