President Abdelmadjid Tebboune has issued a strong warning to those speculating on milk supplies, emphasizing that the era of illicitly trading subsidized goods is definitively over. The President’s remarks came during a visit to the pavilion of the public dairy group “GIPLI” at the 33rd Algerian Production Fair.
Expressing his dissatisfaction with the persistent scarcity of milk, President Tebboune noted that the establishment of the GIPLI factory was intended to resolve this ongoing issue. He stated that some unscrupulous traders are deliberately exacerbating the milk shortage for personal gain.
“The sale of subsidized goods under the table has ended for good”, the President stated.
President Tebboune vowed that the justice system would not hesitate to hold those involved accountable, ensuring that subsidized goods reach their intended beneficiaries. He affirmed the government’s commitment to combating any activities that undermine the availability of essential commodities to the Algerian people.
“The state will not tolerate any actions that harm the citizens”, he added.
The President’s comments underscore the government’s determination to address market manipulation and ensure fair access to subsidized products for all citizens. The government is committed to fighting against those who seek to profit from the needs of the people.
The Production Fair is an annual event where local companies show their products.
