Quneitra, Syria – Israeli military patrols conducted three separate incursions into the northern and southern Quneitra countryside on Sunday, according to reports from the region. The incidents mark a continued pattern of Israeli military activity within Syrian territory near the occupied Golan Heights.
According to local sources, the first incursion involved two Israeli military vehicles entering the area near the village of Umm al-Azam, proceeding from the Adnaniyah point in the northern Quneitra countryside. The patrol reportedly established a checkpoint at the Umm al-Azam intersection, a key junction connecting the village to Ruwayhinah and al-Mushairifah.
A separate Israeli patrol was reported west of al-Rafid in the southern Quneitra countryside. Eyewitnesses stated that soldiers fired shots randomly into the air. No casualties were reported. A third incursion involved five military vehicles entering the village of Saida al-Hanout, also in the southern Quneitra region.
These incidents follow similar incursions on Saturday, during which Israeli forces reportedly entered the villages of Ein Ziwan and al-Ajraf, establishing temporary checkpoints and conducting searches.
The recent activity brings the total number of reported Israeli incursions into the Quneitra region this month to 42. These incursions have reportedly involved arrests and other disruptive actions.
Reports indicate that these operations have been concentrated in four main areas: the central, northern, and southern Quneitra countryside, as well as a region administratively part of Rif Dimashq Governorate but geographically linked to the Golan front. The central Quneitra region, including the villages of Bir Ajam, Bariqa, and Koudna, has seen the highest number of incursions, accompanied by reports of heavy machinery, trench digging, earthworks, and the uprooting of trees. These actions have impacted agricultural land and water resources, restricting farmers’ access to their properties.
In the northern Quneitra region, the towns of Jabata al-Khashab, Trunjeh, Mazari al-Amal, and al-Hamidiyah have been targeted, with reports of agricultural land and water wells being destroyed. The southern Quneitra countryside has witnessed incursions in villages such as al-Rafid, al-Ashah, al-Qahtaniyah, and al-Hurriyah, with reports of new roads and the installation of barbed wire. The incursions continue to raise tensions in the area.
