Algiers – The Constitutional Court opened its doors today to a delegation of newly elected members of the Algerian Children’s Parliament. This visit comes a day after their official inauguration at the People’s National Assembly.
The young parliamentarians were given a tour of the court and engaged in discussions about the role of the Constitutional Court in safeguarding the nation’s constitution and ensuring the rule of law. The visit aimed to educate the children about the importance of constitutional principles and the functioning of the judicial system.
“We believe it is crucial to foster a sense of civic responsibility and understanding of our institutions among the younger generation,” stated a representative from the Constitutional Court. “By engaging with these young leaders, we hope to inspire them to become active and informed citizens who contribute to the future of our country.”
The members of the Children’s Parliament, representing various regions of Algeria, expressed their enthusiasm for the opportunity to learn about the Constitutional Court. They asked questions about the court’s procedures, its impact on citizens’ rights, and its role in resolving constitutional disputes.
This visit underscores the commitment of Algerian institutions to promoting youth engagement and empowering young people to participate in shaping the future of the nation. The Children’s Parliament serves as a platform for young Algerians to voice their opinions, propose solutions to challenges facing their communities, and learn about the democratic process.
