Comprehensive Digital Transformation for Worker Health Underway

Algiers, December 24, 2025 – A comprehensive plan for the digitalization of worker health services and the expansion of activities at “Prestimed,” the occupational health institution, is underway, according to recent directives from the Ministry of Labor, Employment, and Social Security.

Minister Abdelhak Sayhi convened an evaluation meeting earlier today at the ministry headquarters, specifically dedicated to reviewing the performance and activities of Prestimed. This meeting forms part of the ministry’s ongoing monitoring of affiliated organizations and aims to strengthen their role in supporting economic enterprises.

During the session, the Director-General of Prestimed presented a detailed report outlining the institution’s accomplishments, particularly in areas such as preventative healthcare, routine medical examinations, and the early detection of occupational diseases. The report also included an overview of the action plan for 2026.

Minister Sayhi emphasized several strategic directives designed to enhance the quality of services provided to workers. Key areas of focus include:

Digital Transformation and Artificial Intelligence: The Minister mandated the acceleration of digitalization efforts and the integration of Business Intelligence technologies into health data analysis. This aims to support data-driven decision-making while ensuring the security and protection of medical data in accordance with national standards.

Geographic Expansion: Minister Sayhi stressed the need to broaden the institution’s reach to cover all regions of the country, ensuring comprehensive access to occupational health services and promoting workplace health across various industries.

Institutional Integration: The Minister directed the harmonization of information systems within the labor sector with those used in the public health sector. This collaboration aims to unify preventative efforts and develop effective digital platforms for inter-agency communication.

Prevention and Early Diagnosis: Emphasis was placed on the critical role of early detection of occupational diseases in protecting human capital. The ministry plans to intensify efforts and develop modern screening and diagnostic mechanisms.

Minister Sayhi concluded the meeting by affirming that modernizing the labor and employment sector necessitates embracing digitalization as a strategic imperative.
