Israeli forces continued their campaign of raids and demolitions across the West Bank and Jerusalem on Wednesday, further exacerbating tensions in the region. The actions have sparked clashes with Palestinian residents and drawn condemnation from local officials.
Reports indicate that Israeli military incursions targeted several areas, including the towns of Silat al-Harithiya, west of Jenin, and Anabta, east of Tulkarm, in the northern West Bank. Witnesses reported confrontations between Palestinian youth and Israeli soldiers during these operations.
In the village of Kafr al-Labad, east of Tulkarm, a young Palestinian man was reportedly assaulted by Israeli soldiers. According to local sources, Israeli forces entered the village, deployed throughout its streets, and detained several residents. One individual was allegedly subjected to severe beatings.
Similar incidents were reported in the village of Madama, where Israeli forces allegedly fired sound grenades and tear gas towards residential homes, effectively sealing off the village entrances and restricting movement.
In Jerusalem, Israeli authorities carried out extensive demolition operations in the Rawabi al-Issawiya area. According to the Jerusalem Governorate, the demolitions targeted four residential apartments, home to 18 people, as well as agricultural structures belonging to the Abu Ryala family. Israeli authorities cited the lack of building permits as the reason for the demolitions.
Clashes were also reported near the entrance to the Jalazone refugee camp, north of Ramallah. Furthermore, Israeli forces reportedly entered the villages and towns of Yabrud, Silwad, Kafr Malik, and Turmus Ayya, north of Ramallah, as well as the town of Beita and the villages of Burin, south of Nablus.
In the southern West Bank, witnesses reported an Israeli military incursion into the town of Sa’ir, north of Hebron, where sound grenades were reportedly fired. Additionally, residents reportedly thwarted an attack by settlers on the Al-Umriyeen gathering on the outskirts of the village of Al-Mughayyir, northeast of Ramallah, before Israeli forces intervened and fired at the Palestinians.
The ongoing Israeli military operations and settler activities in the West Bank and Jerusalem continue to fuel tensions and raise concerns about the potential for further escalation.
