Labor Minister Urges Faster Digitalization of PRESTIMED, Expands Occupational Health Services

Minister of Labor, Employment, and Social Security, Abdelhak Saihi, chaired an evaluation meeting dedicated to reviewing the activities of the occupational health institution, PRESTIMED. This initiative is part of ongoing efforts to monitor the performance of sector-affiliated bodies and enhance their service-oriented role.

During the meeting, held on Wednesday, Saihi received a comprehensive presentation from the Director-General of PRESTIMED, outlining the institution’s achievements, particularly in areas such as health prevention, periodic medical examinations, and early diagnosis of occupational diseases. The presentation also highlighted agreements concluded with various economic and administrative institutions in the field of occupational medicine, alongside PRESTIMED’s action plan for 2026, which includes key development axes.

Following the presentation, the Minister issued directives to PRESTIMED executives, emphasizing the need to sustain the institution’s positive momentum. He stressed the importance of expanding its reach across the country, accelerating the pace of digital transformation, and adopting modern technologies in medical and administrative management.

Minister Saihi underscored the need to redouble efforts to improve the quality of medical and preventive services provided to workers across all sectors. He emphasized intensifying work in the early diagnosis of occupational diseases, considering it a cornerstone of prevention and worker health protection. Furthermore, he called for the development of effective digital platforms for data exchange between PRESTIMED and its various partners.

The directives also included integrating business intelligence techniques to analyze health data, supporting data-driven decision-making, and ensuring the security and protection of medical data in accordance with national data protection standards. Saihi highlighted the importance of achieving integration and harmony between PRESTIMED’s information systems and other sector-wide systems. He also emphasized strengthened coordination with public health institutions to unify efforts in preventing occupational diseases.

Saihi reiterated the importance of solidifying the digitalization process by developing new digital platforms and services. He also stressed the need to expand PRESTIMED’s activities to additional regions, ensuring comprehensive coverage of occupational health services across the country. This expansion aims to strengthen occupational health and prevention within the workplace, according to the Minister.
