Algiers – President Abdelmadjid Tebboune has bestowed the National Merit Medal, at the rank of “Ahid,” upon Sheikh Mohammed Salah Essedik, a prominent Mujahid, writer, and scholar. This prestigious award recognizes his distinguished academic and advocacy career, as well as his significant contributions to promoting the values of moderation, centrism, and tolerance within Algerian society.
The conferment ceremony, held earlier today at the Mufdi Zakaria Palace of Culture in Algiers, was overseen by Minister of Culture and Arts, Malika Bendouda, and the Advisor to the President for Education, Higher Education, Vocational Training, and Culture, Nasr Eddine Ben Tayfour. The event was attended by several ministers, the Secretary-General of the Ministry of National Defence, and a host of national and cultural figures.
