The Secretary-General of the National Democratic Rally (RND), Mounther Boudhen, has affirmed the party’s readiness to assume its political and moral responsibilities. He emphasized the importance of acknowledging past mistakes and moving forward with a renewed spirit dedicated to serving the nation and its citizens. Boudhen stated that the RND is a national party born out of crisis and will remain steadfast in its commitment to Algeria.
Boudhen elaborated that the party has initiated a comprehensive evaluation based on a candid review of local performance. He stressed that political courage and corrective measures represent a strategic choice to pave a new path founded on a pact of trust, rectifying political practices and enhancing credibility. He further emphasized that the doors are open to young people without obstacles, rejecting any form of stifling their ambitions or hindering their will. He highlighted that the societal and party project places youth as the primary contributors to the nation’s progress and future.
Boudhen reiterated his support for President Abdelmadjid Tebboune’s efforts to build a strong, sovereign Algeria that is not subject to blackmail and believes in good neighborliness and equal relations within its regional and international environment. He also touched upon the Sahel region, stating that these nations have recognized their mistakes and realized that Algeria remains the best ally and friend in the region, free from external ambitions.
Regarding sovereignty, Boudhen emphasized that the law criminalizing colonialism sends a clear message rejecting any external dictates. He asserted that Algeria manages its affairs with its own free will. He also stated that the municipal law will grant the mayor effective powers, making them a true leader of their city, thus strengthening local governance and solidifying accountability and effectiveness.
In the context of confronting foreign influence, he stressed the rejection of neo-colonial narratives, considering it a direct warning to certain French currents that remain captive to the old discourse of hegemony. At the same time, he affirmed support for an equal relationship based on mutual respect between the Algerian and French people, without forgetting the past and its pain.
On the domestic front, Boudhen highlighted the Cabinet meeting held in Khenchela province, the first outside the capital, and the special development program it brought, which contributed to accelerating development in the province. He also affirmed that the expectations of Khenchela’s citizens are legitimate, calling for greater efforts to advance the province, which ‘deserves the best,’ urging its people to ‘dust it off’ and shape its future. Finally, the Secretary-General called for the digitization of the agricultural sector as soon as possible.
