Cold Snap and Thunderstorms Sweep Across Algeria

Several regions across Algeria are experiencing a significant cold snap accompanied by thunderstorms, according to national weather services. Citizens and drivers are urged to exercise caution due to the adverse weather conditions.

A weather alert indicates the likelihood of locally heavy thunderstorms affecting coastal and central provinces. The affected areas include El Tarf, Annaba, Skikda, Jijel, Bejaia, Tizi Ouzou, Boumerdes, Algiers, and Tipaza. Residents in these regions should anticipate potential disruptions and take necessary precautions.

Meanwhile, the high plateau and southwestern provinces are bracing for a severe cold wave, with very low temperatures expected. The provinces of Tebessa, Khenchela, Batna, Setif, Bordj Bou Arreridj, Djelfa, Laghouat, El Bayadh, and Naama will be particularly affected. The extreme cold will be most pronounced during the morning and evening hours.
