Algiers – National team coach Vladimir Petkovic has announced his intention to make changes to the starting lineup for tomorrow’s match against Equatorial Guinea. The move comes as Petkovic looks to provide opportunities for new players and rest those who participated in the previous two games.
During today’s press conference, Petkovic explained that the match will be a true test of the readiness of certain players. He emphasized that this encounter represents an important chance to demonstrate the need to continue working with the same seriousness and focus, especially as the opponent will also enter the match with ambitions of qualifying.
The coach of ‘Les Verts’ affirmed that each match is a fundamental step in developing collective and individual performance, stressing that the team is required to maintain the same competitive spirit regardless of the participating players. “Every player has a chance to prove their worth”, he added.
On another note, Petkovic expressed his regret over the injuries to players Cherki and Hadjam, noting that the medical staff is closely monitoring them to assess their health status and determine the possibility of their return to participate in future matches. He stated, “We feel saddened by what happened; we will await developments in the coming days,” expressing his hope for the players’ speedy recovery and their return to the competitive atmosphere as soon as possible.
