DZWatch Exclusive: The Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research has announced the creation of a single window to support projects originating within higher education institutions. A joint ministerial decree formalizing this initiative was issued Wednesday, marking a significant step towards fostering innovation and entrepreneurship within the academic sphere.
According to a statement released by the Ministry, this single window will serve as a unified point of contact within each university. Its primary function will be to guide and support students with projects, both during their studies and after graduation. This support will also be extended to research professors, university hospital research professors, and permanent researchers, with the ultimate goal of enabling them to establish their own economic enterprises and streamlining administrative procedures.
This initiative aims to bridge the gap between academia and the business world, fostering a more dynamic and innovative ecosystem.
The single window will bring together representatives from several key ministries and agencies, including the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, the Ministry of Interior, Local Authorities and Transport, the Ministry of Finance, the Ministry of Internal Trade and National Market Regulation, the Ministry of Knowledge Economy, Startups and Micro-enterprises, the Ministry of Labor, Employment and Social Security, and the Algerian Investment Agency.
By consolidating these resources and expertise, the government hopes to create a more efficient and accessible pathway for university-based projects to transition into successful businesses, contributing to economic growth and job creation.
The Ministry anticipates that this new structure will significantly reduce bureaucratic hurdles and provide invaluable support to aspiring entrepreneurs within the higher education system.
