Clashes Erupt Within Al-Khasha Camp in Hadramaut

HADRAMAUT, YEMEN – Intense clashes have broken out within the Al-Khasha camp in Wadi Hadramaut, escalating tensions between forces loyal to the Yemeni government and the Southern Transitional Council (STC). The fighting, which occurred inside the military installation, has prompted concerns about the stability of the region.

Eyewitness accounts describe heavy smoke billowing from the areas where the clashes took place. Amidst the chaos, calls for steadfastness and resistance could be heard, reflecting the intensity of the conflict.

Earlier today, Hadramaut Governor Salem al-Khanbashi announced that pro-government forces had seized control of Camp 37 in Al-Khasha, considered the largest military base in the governorate, following clashes with STC forces. The capture of the camp represents a significant shift in the balance of power in the region.

Reports indicate that government forces, supported by aerial and missile strikes, successfully dislodged STC fighters from the base. Images circulating online purportedly show damaged military equipment and the withdrawal of some STC personnel from the area.

Prior to the recent clashes, the Al-Khasha camp was reportedly under the control of the STC, which had allegedly launched attacks on various military installations and seized control of vast areas within Hadramaut. The government’s recapture of the camp marks a significant setback for the STC and underscores the ongoing struggle for control of the region.
