El Oued, Algeria – January 3, 2026 – A tragic road accident in the El Oued province has resulted in one fatality and injuries to six other individuals, according to local Civil Protection services.
The incident occurred earlier today, Saturday, when two vehicles collided on National Route 16, within the municipality and district of Oumia Wanesa. Civil Protection units were dispatched to the scene at approximately 8:11 PM local time.
The collision resulted in the death of a 26-year-old male. His body has been transferred to the morgue. Six other individuals sustained various injuries and received immediate medical assistance at the scene before being transported to a local hospital for further treatment.
