Bejaia, Algeria – A multi-vehicle collision on a major highway in Bejaia province resulted in one fatality and several injuries earlier today.
Emergency services responded to the scene at approximately 10:17 AM local time following reports of a pile-up involving three vehicles. The incident occurred on the highway near the Arqab interchange in the Boujellil municipality, Tazmalt district.
According to Civil Protection authorities, the collision resulted in the death of a 23-year-old woman. Her body was transported to the local morgue. Four other individuals sustained injuries of varying degrees. Paramedics provided on-site medical assistance before transporting the injured to a nearby hospital for further treatment.
The cause of the accident is currently under investigation. Authorities are working to clear the scene and restore normal traffic flow. Motorists are advised to avoid the area if possible and to exercise caution on the roads, especially during periods of high traffic volume.
