RND Supports Updates to Proposed Traffic Law

The National Democratic Rally (RND) has voiced its support for revisions to the proposed traffic law, emphasizing the importance of addressing citizen concerns and ensuring the legislation serves the public interest. RND Secretary-General, Munther Bouden, highlighted the ongoing dialogue surrounding the law as a positive interaction between citizens, the legislative body, and the government.

Speaking at a public gathering in Qasr El Boukhari, Bouden stated that the traffic law is still under consideration in the Council of the Nation (Upper House of Parliament). He affirmed that the RND is committed to facilitating any amendments that align with the needs and desires of the Algerian people. Bouden also stressed the need for comprehensive awareness campaigns targeting drivers.

“Driving schools should incorporate ethical instruction alongside practical training,” Bouden stated, emphasizing that road safety is a national responsibility that requires collective effort and realistic solutions.

Looking ahead, Bouden expressed optimism for Algeria’s future, based on dedicated work and good intentions. He called for a confident approach to facing future challenges, encouraging a focus on the positive aspects of progress and development.

Addressing the international context, the RND Secretary-General noted the complexities of the global landscape, citing examples of unilateral actions that undermine international institutions. He emphasized the need for a unified domestic front to navigate these challenges effectively.

In the agricultural sector, Bouden pointed out Algeria’s achievements in achieving self-sufficiency in wheat production over the past two years. He added that efforts are underway to attain self-sufficiency in corn and other essential commodities. He urged livestock farmers to organize themselves through associations to facilitate direct communication with the Ministries of Agriculture and Foreign Trade when needed.

Bouden concluded by reiterating that the Algerian Parliament, in both its chambers, is dedicated to serving the interests of the citizens. He asserted that all laws under discussion are ultimately aimed at improving the lives of the Algerian people.
