In a significant humanitarian effort, Qatar’s State Minister for International Cooperation, Lulwa Al-Khater, led a delegation from Qatar to the Egyptian cities of El Arish and Rafah on Tuesday. Their mission was to deliver additional aid packages to the Palestinian people, as stated by the Qatari Foreign Ministry.
The aid package encompasses a field hospital, essential shelter supplies, medical supplies, and food items. This assistance is part of Qatar’s ongoing support for the Palestinian people during the challenging humanitarian conditions resulting from the Israeli airstrikes on Gaza.
In her statements to the Qatari News Agency, Minister Al-Khater expressed gratitude for Egypt’s efforts in facilitating the delivery of aid to the Palestinian people. She also discussed with the Egyptian side the challenges associated with the obstinacy of the occupation and the international community’s reluctance to act.
Al-Khater reiterated Qatar’s unwavering solidarity with the Palestinian people and its commitment to helping them overcome the humanitarian catastrophe caused by the long-standing blockade and ongoing aggression. She emphasized Qatar’s collaborative efforts with Egypt and the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) in delivering aid to those in need, despite various obstacles.
The Minister further affirmed that Qatar will persist in its endeavors to break the collective punishment imposed on Gaza. She highlighted that the coordination of these efforts was one of the outcomes of the recent Arab-Islamic summit held in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
The Qatari delegation included representatives from the Qatari Committee for the Reconstruction of Gaza, the Qatar Development Fund, and the Qatar Red Crescent Society, as well as Qatar Charity.
It is worth noting that Qatar had previously dispatched several aircraft from the Qatar Armed Forces to El Arish in Egypt, carrying food and medical aid, as well as shelter supplies, provided by the Qatar Development Fund, the Qatar Red Crescent Society, and Qatar Charity.
