Gaza Death Toll Climbs to 71,384 Amid Ongoing Conflict

Gaza City – The Palestinian Ministry of Health has reported a grim milestone in the ongoing conflict, announcing that the death toll in Gaza has risen to 71,384 since October 7, 2023. An additional 171,251 people have been injured in the hostilities.

According to the Ministry, three more fatalities were recorded in Gaza hospitals within the past 48 hours. These include two newly confirmed deaths and one body recovered from the rubble. Eighteen new injuries were also reported.

DZWatch sources on the ground indicate that numerous victims remain trapped under collapsed buildings and in areas inaccessible to rescue teams. Emergency services and civil defense personnel are struggling to reach these individuals due to ongoing challenges.

A statement from the Ministry further detailed that since the cessation of active fighting, 418 deaths have been recorded. Additionally, 1,171 injuries have been documented, and 684 bodies have been recovered from various locations throughout the Gaza Strip.

The situation remains dire, with concerns mounting over the ability to provide adequate medical care and humanitarian assistance to the affected population. DZWatch will continue to provide updates as the situation unfolds.
