Gaza Strip – Multiple fatalities have been reported following the collapse of a residential building in the Al-Maghazi refugee camp, central Gaza Strip. The collapse is believed to be a result of earlier Israeli airstrikes in the area.
DZWatch sources confirm that Israeli forces have also carried out artillery shelling and demolition operations in areas south of Khan Yunis. Witnesses reported seeing several buildings destroyed by what appeared to be controlled explosions.
Furthermore, eastern areas of the Jabalia refugee camp in northern Gaza were also targeted by Israeli artillery fire. Similar demolition operations were reported in the Al-Zaytoun neighborhood, east of Gaza City, where residential buildings were reportedly targeted.
Eyewitness accounts detail scenes of panic and terror among children and women attending a recreational and psychosocial support event near the ‘yellow line’ when the demolitions commenced. Explosive devices were also reportedly dropped from Israeli drones onto houses outside the areas where Israeli forces were deployed, east of Gaza City.
The Al-Zaytoun and Al-Shuja’iya neighborhoods in eastern Gaza City continue to experience heavy artillery shelling and gunfire originating from Israeli military positions.
The head of the Palestinian NGO Network in Gaza, Amjad Al-Shawwa, stated that approximately 900,000 displaced people are living in extremely harsh conditions within dilapidated tents. He emphasized that tents are not a sustainable solution to the ongoing displacement crisis that has persisted for over two years.
These events occur against the backdrop of a proposed peace plan announced in September 2025, which included a ceasefire, prisoner release, and the disarmament of Hamas. While the initial phase of the agreement commenced in October 2025, reports indicate ongoing violations and delays in the implementation of subsequent phases.
