Algiers Police Dismantle Company Robbery Ring

Algiers, Algeria – A criminal group specializing in corporate theft has been dismantled in Algiers, according to a statement released by the Algiers Police Department. The operation, conducted by the Property Crimes Unit of the Bab Ezzouar Judicial Police District, resulted in the arrest of nine individuals with prior criminal records.

The arrests followed a series of complaints filed by businesses across several central Algerian provinces reporting burglaries. The perpetrators allegedly stole significant sums of money and electronic equipment from the targeted companies.

“Following thorough investigations conducted under the supervision of the relevant Public Prosecutor, authorities were able to identify and apprehend the suspects,” the police statement detailed. The operation also led to the recovery of stolen goods and equipment used in the commission of the crimes.

Among the recovered items were tools and equipment used in the burglaries, two plastic weapons, prohibited bladed weapons, seven television sets, four laptops, and eleven mobile phones. Police also seized 24.3 million Algerian dinars, believed to be proceeds from the thefts, and five vehicles.

The suspects have been presented before the territorially competent Public Prosecutor’s office, the statement concluded. DZWatch will continue to follow this developing story.
