Algiers, January 7, 2026 – Algerian and Omani officials convened today via video conference to discuss potential joint ventures in the pharmaceutical industry. The meeting, held at the Ministry of Pharmaceutical Industry headquarters, brought together representatives from the Ministry and their counterparts from the Omani Ministry of Health and Omani investment authorities.
According to a statement released by the Ministry, discussions centered on exploring opportunities for collaborative investment between economic operators from both countries. This meeting follows the recent visit of the Minister of Pharmaceutical Industry to Oman, where strengthening cooperation and joint investment in pharmaceutical development were key topics.
The talks specifically addressed avenues for enhancing the pharmaceutical industry, facilitating the exchange of technical expertise and experience, supporting research and development, and promoting technology transfer. A key objective is to streamline the entry of Algerian pharmaceutical products into Omani markets and neighboring countries.
Both sides emphasized the importance of continued coordination and joint efforts to translate shared political will into practical programs and effective partnerships. These initiatives aim to benefit the pharmaceutical sectors in both Algeria and Oman. The participants agreed to a schedule of reciprocal visits between officials and a timeline for implementing the agreed-upon roadmap in the pharmaceutical field.
