Algeria, for Qatari traveler Khaled Al-Jaber, is more than just a stop on the map. It’s a complete world where he immerses himself in the details of every desert, plateau, and valley with unforgettable depth. In a recent interview, Al-Jaber revealed how his journeys in Algeria have become a school of life, blending adventure with the discovery of humanity, nature, and culture, and how this country has left a profound mark on his travel experiences.
Before becoming a professional traveler, Khaled Al-Jaber was born in Cairo to a diplomatic and academic family, granting him an early global perspective. He studied in several countries and obtained a bachelor’s degree in computer network engineering from the American University in London, a master’s degree in combating cybercrime from the University of Iceland, and an executive master’s degree from the Qatar Leadership Centre. He also spent a year working on his doctorate. Today, he is a businessman specializing in motorcycle sales and organizing trips around the world, living between Germany and Qatar, while continuing to pursue his passion for travel professionally, combining his love for adventure with his professional expertise.
Al-Jaber describes Algeria as “Planet Algeria” due to its natural and cultural diversity. He speaks of the eastern, southern, and western deserts, the high plateaus rich in Roman and Numidian antiquities, and the northern coast, which he calls “the smiling and happy Mediterranean.” He emphasizes that each wilaya (province) represents an independent culture with its cuisine, clothing, and dialects, making Algeria globally unique and allowing travelers to experience each region differently, from nature to heritage, music, and even daily customs.
Al-Jaber emphasizes that Algeria provides daily experiences that teach generosity. He mentioned an instance in the Tibetan mountain range as an example of generosity. He recounts a memorable moment in the TFT region between Ouargla and Illizi, when a cafe owner invited him for coffee and croissants, free of charge, demonstrating the simple hospitality he often encounters.
Algeria’s diverse landscapes and warm hospitality have clearly left an indelible impression on this seasoned traveler, solidifying its place as a must-visit destination for those seeking adventure and cultural immersion.
