Algiers, January 9, 2026 – Several eastern provinces of Algeria are expected to experience rainfall today, according to the National Meteorological Office. The forecast indicates a shift in weather patterns, particularly affecting the northeastern regions of the country.
The northern regions are predicted to have a mix of sunny and partly cloudy conditions. However, the eastern areas will see more significant precipitation. The provinces specifically mentioned in the weather advisory include Tizi Ouzou, Bejaia, Jijel, Skikda, Annaba, and El Tarf. Residents in these areas should be prepared for potential disruptions due to the anticipated rainfall.
Temperatures along the coastal regions are expected to range between 16 and 20 degrees Celsius. Inland areas will experience cooler temperatures, fluctuating between 8 and 17 degrees Celsius. Wind speeds could reach up to 60 kilometers per hour, potentially exacerbating the impact of the rainfall.
In contrast, the southern regions of Algeria are expected to enjoy sunny weather. Temperatures in the south will be significantly warmer, ranging from 14 to 30 degrees Celsius. Wind speeds in the southern provinces are predicted to be lower, reaching up to 40 kilometers per hour.
