Algeria’s national team coach, Vladimir Petkovic, stressed the importance of a strong, balanced performance from his players, both defensively and offensively, in their upcoming match against Nigeria. The crucial game is set for tomorrow as part of the quarter-finals.
During a press conference, Petkovic stated, “Tomorrow, we need to be at our peak in both attack and defense. Our recent preparations have primarily focused on recovery, given the limited time between matches.” He emphasized the mental fortitude required, adding, “Everything is linked to the players’ mentality. They understand how to recover from fatigue through our daily routines.”
Regarding injuries, particularly concerning midfielder Ismael Bennacer, Petkovic remained cautious. “I cannot definitively say whether Bennacer will be ready. We have one final training session, after which I will determine which players are fit. We will know at the last moment if Bennacer is capable of playing.”
The highly anticipated match between Algeria and Nigeria will take place tomorrow, Saturday, at the Grand Stade de Marrakech. The game is expected to draw a large crowd of passionate supporters.
