Algiers – Algeria is bracing for a spell of unstable weather this Sunday, with rainfall expected across eastern regions and snowfall anticipated in the higher altitudes. The national weather service has issued a forecast indicating a significant shift in weather patterns.
The northern regions, particularly the east and central areas, are predicted to experience morning showers. This is expected to transition into partly cloudy conditions by the afternoon. Snowfall is likely on elevations exceeding 1200 meters, potentially leading to colder temperatures and challenging travel conditions in mountainous zones.
Several eastern provinces are expected to be affected by the rainfall, including Jijel, Skikda, Annaba, El Tarf, Constantine, Guelma, and Souk Ahras. The intensity of the rainfall will vary locally.
Coastal temperatures are forecast to range between 15 and 17 degrees Celsius, while inland areas can expect temperatures between 7 and 15 degrees Celsius. Wind speeds in the north could reach up to 40 km/h.
In contrast, southern regions will experience weather ranging from sunny to partly cloudy, with temperatures spanning from 14 to 31 degrees Celsius. These areas may also encounter relatively strong winds, potentially reaching speeds of 50 km/h.
Authorities are advising citizens, especially drivers and residents of elevated areas, to exercise caution and stay informed about weather updates in anticipation of any sudden changes in conditions. Stay tuned to DZWatch for the latest weather reports.
