Major maintenance operations commenced this morning on the Zeralda-Hamadi bypass road, a critical artery connecting Algiers and Boumerdes provinces. The work is centered around the Chaoua tunnel exit in Khraicia. This initiative underscores the Ministry’s ongoing commitment to upgrading the nation’s road and highway network.
The launch was overseen by the Secretary-General of the Ministry of Public Works and Basic Infrastructure, Ali Boulahrebah, along with key central directorate staff and public works directors from Tipaza, Algiers, Blida, Bouira, and Boumerdes. Representatives from various public bodies, institutions, supervised companies, and private sector partners involved in the project were also present.
A significant mobilization of resources has been deployed to ensure the success of this vital undertaking. Eight construction companies are actively engaged, supported by a workforce of 450 personnel and a fleet of 60 specialized machines. This substantial investment aims to deliver efficient and rapid improvements to the road’s condition, thereby enhancing safety for all road users.
The Ministry aspires to extend these maintenance programs across the entire network of highways, national roads, and local roads. The ultimate goal is to elevate the overall quality of service provided to motorists and prioritize their safety and well-being. This comprehensive approach will ensure a more reliable and secure transportation infrastructure for the benefit of all citizens.
