Algeria Post has issued an important statement regarding the increasing incidents of lost ‘Gold’ (Dahabia) cards, the institution announced Saturday via its official Facebook page. The statement emphasizes the potential risk posed to postal accounts when a card is misplaced, urging customers to take immediate action.
The postal service stressed the critical need to promptly suspend a lost Gold card to safeguard the associated account from unauthorized access and potential financial compromise. Failure to do so could expose account holders to fraudulent activity.
Algeria Post outlined the steps customers should take upon discovering a lost card. The most immediate action is to freeze the card. This can be accomplished either by visiting the nearest post office branch or, more conveniently, through the ‘Baridi Mob’ mobile application. The application provides a dedicated service for suspending and replacing lost cards.
‘Baridi Mob’ offers a swift and accessible solution for managing card security, allowing users to instantly block their card remotely, minimizing the risk of misuse.
The statement further clarified that upon freezing the lost card and requesting a replacement, customers will receive a new Gold card accompanied by a newly generated PIN. This measure ensures that the compromised PIN from the lost card cannot be used to access the account. Algeria Post reminds customers to securely store their PIN and avoid sharing it with anyone.
Algeria Post continues to encourage vigilance and responsible card management to protect customers’ financial interests. The institution is committed to providing secure and reliable postal and financial services throughout the country.
