National Employment and Training Fair Launches in Setif

The National Employment, Training, and Entrepreneurship Fair kicks off in Setif from January 17th to 19th. This year’s theme is “Eastern Competencies Serving the National Industry.” The event promises to be a significant platform for connecting talent with opportunity.

Organizers anticipate over forty exhibitors, representing a diverse range of entities. These include local and international companies, training organizations, startups, business incubators, universities, and scientific clubs. The fair is held under the patronage of the Ministries of Higher Education and Scientific Research, and Knowledge Economy, Startups and Micro-enterprises.

The fair’s primary objective is to facilitate discussions surrounding the jobs of the future. A key focus will be on innovation, industry advancements, and the development of regional skills. These discussions will be aligned with current challenges facing the industrial sector.

This year’s event targets several key groups: individuals seeking employment, vocational training institutions, higher education establishments, startups, business incubators and support structures, industrial and technological companies, students seeking job opportunities, and project leaders.

Organizers emphasized that this 20th edition of the fair expands its reach eastward to the city of Setif. This strategic move aims to decentralize activities, bring national dynamics closer to regional ecosystems, and activate the collective intelligence of different regions. It also seeks to bring together professionals from eastern provinces to enhance local skills and encourage regional entrepreneurship, with a particular emphasis on future-oriented sectors such as electronics manufacturing, applied technologies, and personal skills development.

The event program includes new initiatives, such as “Challenge Day,” dedicated to showcasing the best business plans presented by young Algerian researchers and students. This initiative aims to transform innovative ideas into promising startups. A competition, organized by the National Agency for the Valorization of Research Results and Technological Development, will judge the plans based on criteria such as creativity, feasibility, impact, scalability, and strategic alignment.

The program also features employment workshops, insightful discussion sessions, career development and skills enhancement tracks, as well as seminars, lectures, and meetings with international experts. DZWatch will be providing full coverage throughout the event.
