Algeria Prepares for Ramadan 2026: Focus on Market Stability

Prime Minister Sifi Gherib presided over a coordination meeting with the Governors of the Republic today, via video conference. The meeting, also attended by the Minister of Interior, Local Authorities, and Transportation, Said Saioud, and the Minister of Domestic Trade and Market Regulation, Amal Abdel Latif, focused on preparations for the upcoming month of Ramadan.

According to a statement from the Ministry of Interior and Transportation, the Prime Minister issued directives during the meeting to strengthen coordination and consolidate efforts to closely monitor the supply of essential goods to citizens during the holy month.

In this context, the Prime Minister emphasized the importance of adopting a proactive approach through the establishment of monitoring and coordination units at the local level. This is to ensure full readiness and prevent any market disruptions. The goal is to guarantee a stable and well-supplied market throughout Ramadan.

Minister of Interior, Local Authorities, and Transportation, Said Saioud, affirmed the pivotal role of local authorities, particularly the Governors, in ensuring the effective implementation of the government’s directives. He stressed the need to involve all stakeholders in order to provide all widely consumed materials during Ramadan. Effective collaboration is key to a successful Ramadan.
