Algiers Police Seek Suspect in Retail Theft Cases

Algiers, January 14, 2026 – Algiers police are appealing to the public for assistance in locating a suspect believed to be involved in multiple retail theft cases across the capital.

The Algiers State Security Services, specifically the Judicial Police Squad of the Bir Touta Administrative District Security, announced today that a person identified as “B.A.” is a suspect in a series of thefts from commercial establishments. A photograph of the suspect is being circulated to aid in identification.

In accordance with Article 26 of the Code of Criminal Procedure and acting under the authorization of the Public Prosecutor’s Office at the Boufarik Court, law enforcement is urging anyone who may have been a victim of “B.A.”, encountered him personally, conducted business with him, or possesses information related to these cases to come forward.

Individuals with information are requested to report to the Judicial Police Squad headquarters at the Bir Touta Administrative District Security or to the Boufarik Court to file a complaint or provide testimony.

Police officials emphasized the importance of public cooperation in bringing the suspect to justice and ensuring the safety and security of local businesses. Any detail, no matter how small, could be crucial in advancing the investigation.
