Algeria’s Minister of Industry and Pharmaceutical Production, Ali Aoun, met with Sanofi’s Vice President, Marc Antoine Lucini, and the General Manager of Sanofi Algeria,Insulin Production Sanofi Algeria.
emphasizing the need for timely insulin production. The ministry’s statement highlighted Sanofi’s presentation on expanding and diversifying its pharmaceutical range and partnering with Saidal Group for vaccine production. Aoun ordered the swift signing of the agreement before December end to initiate immediate production.
Sanofi’s General Manager confirmed the commencement of the first and second generation insulin manufacturing. Aoun stressed the importance of adhering to agreed deadlines and further developing diabetes products. He acknowledged Sanofi’s 40-year quality presence in Algeria, pledging support for increasing drug production to alleviate shortages. Aoun commended the recent stabilization of insulin production, which has covered local market demands and addressed previous fluctuations.
The Minister underscored the need to enhance local pharmaceutical industry collaboration with drug laboratories, aiming for medicinal self-sufficiency and national sovereignty in drug localization.
