Gaza: Israeli Raids Claim 11 Lives Amid Ceasefire Violations

Gaza Strip – A series of Israeli air raids across the Gaza Strip has resulted in the deaths of eleven Palestinians on Thursday, raising concerns about the fragile state of the ceasefire agreement. The renewed violence underscores the precarious humanitarian situation in the region.

Reports indicate that an Israeli airstrike targeted a residential building in the Nuseirat refugee camp in central Gaza, and another struck the Rashid coastal road southwest of Gaza City, resulting in three fatalities. Earlier in the day, six Palestinians were killed in two separate strikes on homes in Deir al-Balah, also in central Gaza. According to medical sources at Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital, four individuals from the al-Houli family were killed when their home in Deir al-Balah camp was hit. A separate strike, occurring approximately an hour earlier, claimed the lives of two Palestinians in the courtyard of a home belonging to the al-Jarou family, northwest of the city.

Numerous Palestinians were injured in these attacks and were transported to Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital in Deir al-Balah alongside the deceased. The hospital is reportedly overwhelmed by the influx of casualties. Furthermore, Israeli forces allegedly assassinated Ashraf al-Khatib, a commander in the Al-Quds Brigades, in a bombing of a house in the Nuseirat camp, following the reported killing of Hamas commander Mohammed al-Houli in Deir al-Balah.

These incidents are part of a broader pattern of alleged Israeli violations of the ceasefire agreement in the Gaza Strip. Reports suggest over 1200 violations have been documented since the initial phase of the agreement. The situation is further exacerbated by severe weather conditions and reported hindrances to the delivery of humanitarian aid.

Since the ceasefire began on October 10, 2025, the total number of casualties has risen to 459 fatalities and over 1250 injuries. UNRWA has noted a marked increase in Israeli military activity, particularly in areas near the so-called “Yellow Line.” The organization stated that access to humanitarian facilities, infrastructure, and agricultural land remains severely restricted or prohibited.

The Government Media Office in Gaza has warned that the Strip is facing a “slow genocide,” highlighting the urgent need for international intervention to protect civilian lives and ensure the sustained delivery of humanitarian assistance.
