A recent Algerian-Indian Business Forum, organized by the Ministry of Pharmaceutical Industry in partnership with the Indian Embassy in Algeria, brought together key economic players from both nations.

The forum, held on January 15, 2025, saw the participation of 65 Indian and 80 Algerian economic operators active in the fields of pharmaceutical manufacturing and medical supplies. Algeria places particular emphasis on leveraging Indian expertise, especially in the manufacturing of raw materials and active pharmaceutical ingredients, which has been identified as a strategic national objective to bolster pharmaceutical sovereignty, secure supply chains, and increase local added value.

‘Technology transfer is a fundamental pillar for building sustainable industrial partnerships,’ Bouarara stated.

The Ministry reiterated its support for all initiatives aimed at expanding cooperation with India, particularly in technology transfer and the development of national skills. The Algerian market remains open to investment and offers promising opportunities in the pharmaceutical industry.
